Large store concept

Design of Standaard Boekhandel’s 1st 600m2 store along access road to the city. The traditional open structure was swapped to various category corners offering an appropriate experience; e.g. cooking books are completed with a coffee corner and large table. Shoppers navigate in an intuitive way along the different segments and sub-segments of the product assortment. The store design is a marriage between the existing furniture of Standaard Boekhandel’s city stores on the one hand and an innovative, warm concept responding to the typical challenges of a large store. Following to its success, this store concept was meanwhile fine-tuned to a shopping centre version.
